Now 3 days of the new year has passed and 1 dat of this year went as usually to sleep after a long night and to take farewell to my girlfriend G that went back to Oslo again. But I will see her again this weekend.
Yesterday where the first day back at work, I bought a new membership to a gym which felt like a bit cliche to do the first thing on the new year. However, I wrote this years first blog post 2016 Review and I started to think about what I wanted to do this year.
Today I have been working and meet upp with an old lifeguard buddy (Little B) that’s in town for a few more days before he moves to Skåne (Southern parts of Sweden) in order to study. Walked almost 20000 steps today which feels like a good thing.
Full of thoughts for the new year and this week will have a lot of things in store I’m sure about that!
First of all I just want to say happy new year everyone and thanks for reading the blog during 2016. It’s amazing to be able to run this blog.
2016 have been an intense year but I first realized when looking back at it on new years eve. So I though I would summarize it a little bit. And I have an idea of split a deeper review up during the next month.
So 2016 started I started out on my trip to Bali. Which was my first time I spent new year outside of Sweden. Bali was amazing and among the best trips of my life and right now I can see a lot of people posting from Bali on social media and I just want to go back soon again.
However the trip ended and I returned back to work and my home in Oslo. Back home in Oslo i cross country skied as much as I could and when X-games visited Oslo me and friend went and saw the big air competition which where amazing.
During the spring I celebrated my 29th birthday and I did so in Florence, Italy which where great. Don’t think I ever been to a city where I’ve eaten som much great food and been drinking so much great wine and with great I really med GREAT!
Just two weeks after my return to Oslo I went back to Italy. This time I stopped in Milan on the way to Cinque Terra where I hiked for 5 days with beautiful views.
The summer I spent in Sweden as usually together with my family and during the summer my grandpa on mother side past away. But I also had a real nice summer. Most of it by my girlfriend G’s family’s cottage in Dalsland but also on the Swedish West coast that pretty much is Swedish summer to me. I also climbed hiked up the Norwegian mountain Gaustatoppen and meet my mom’s cousins and their children which where about the same age as me.
The autumn has I not written som much about on the blog but where among the biggest changes this year. I got a new job in Sweden that meant that I moved form Norway back home to Sweden again. However, I still travel a lot to Oslo and Norway because my girlfriend G still lives in Oslo. Much of the end of the year have been going to establishing my self back in Sweden. Taking up contact with friends in the area. Started to train lifeguarding again.
It’s been an intense year and I already now know that 2017 might be a even bigger year for me. I will let you know soon what this hint is about.
Merry Christmas everyone, yeah I know its December 26th today but anyway. I just wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas. I’ve been spending the last couple of days with friends and family and I’ve been taking a lot of photos and also tried some video so I’m super excited to see how all of this turns out. If it turns out okay I will share it here on the blog is the plan.
Right now I’m in Dalsland with my girlfriend G’s family and in their cottages up here. I looks like we have a storm coming in during the afternoon and the night so we will see how that turns out.
I’m on the bus heading towards Oslo and Norway for the weekend. But this time is a bit different. A few weeks ago I saw the final concert with the Swedish band Kent but this weekend it’s a new concert and a new artist. This time it’s to see the biggest artist in Sweden, Håkan Hellström. So me and G will go with a few Swedish friends that lives in Oslo and some Norwegian that will experience him for the first time. I’m super excited.
Been thinking a lot about I best could share his music with you because all of it is in Swedish.
So woke up early this morning way earlier than necessary but it was real good because for once I could go back to sleep. When I finally went up I had a great hotel breakfast and after that I checked out as a took a cab with my new colleague J to the construction work environment course where I then spent the day. A lot of thought not only for work but also for me outside of work. Think it was a real good course and I really like that the company invest the time and money in their personnel. A good way of showing the way for the rest of the industry.
After the course me J and two other shared a cab to the airport and flew home to Gothenburg. It’s truly amazing how many nice, driven and friendly people I’ve meet the last two days and that are my co-workers. Impressed a hell to be honest and feels good to be working where I am.
First of all why am I always get extra security control in Sweden and Europe when it’s so rare for me in the US? Could I look so much more friendly in the US maybe.
So up extra earlie this morning think that alarm went of at 04.30 just to be sure. Maybe a bit overkill but it didn’t bother me.
So a drive to the airport with almost non existing traffic on the highway. Why all of this? The explanation is that I’m today are flying up to Stockholm for two days of education with the construction company I work for. It’s an introduction and one work environment course. Looking forward to both.
So guess the day will be pretty full of stuff but really don’t know what to expect.
By the way I’ve listened to Chase Jarvis Live podcast today and the interview with Richard Branson which was perfect for my 1 hour flight. Highly recommended!
So last night I drove up to Oslo after work. It’s about a 3,5 hour drive but I usually stop for something to eat. G where out with her work so I got some time alone up here which I never anymore. So I had a beer and watching one of my new favorit tv shows Lethal Weapon and just relaxing. Pretty nice. From time to time I enjoy to get some time alone.
Who inspires you? That’s today’s question and topic here on the blog I have a few but these are my top 3 right now.
Chase Jarvis – Entrepreneur, Photographer
Richard Branson – Entrepreneur
Jon Olsson – Skier and Vlogger
So what’s in common for these 3? All of them likes to share what the learned, how the live and what they’ve done and face it all of the has done pretty well and are among the best in their field. The have a humble and relaxed view of life but work hard. All of these are things that I admire. Then they also make nice products.
Charse Jarvis takes the best photos I’ve seen so far ever and I when I watched him and how he interacts with other people when he works is pretty amazing (can be seen on youtube cheap camera challenge and Chase Jarvis , I’m sure you will find it. In order to see him work).
Richard Branson have always done marketing with bout small and big means bit always in a big and a cool way.
Jon Olsson, his video blog is just absolutely and beautiful and really cool to follow. I don’t do it every day but when I have some extra time I usually end up watching a vlogg video from him. Also a lot of nice locations.
I moved back to Sweden from Norway about 1,5 month ago and I’m still kind of settling in. My girlfriend G is still working and living back in Oslo, Norway. And I’m renting a room back in Kungbacka, Sweden which is about 30 kilometers south of Gotherburg and my hometown and the place where I grew up. So I miss G quite a lot but there is a lot of fun things going on back home which makes it easier. Then I travel quite a lot back and forth between Oslo and Gothenburg during the weekends.
But I love Norway and its really a place that want to visit pretty frequently for the rest of my life and to discover even more. But Gothenburg and Sweden is home somewhere deep down even if I’m open to other places in the future.
So tomorrow I will go back to Norway in order to spend som time with G. So right now I’m writing here on the blog, sending a draft at what I hope will become a book to a creative friend for feedback and packing my bags for my trip tomorrow. All of this from my working space and my new desk that I added as today’s’ photo.
I’m a Swede as you might know if you’ve read the blog earlier but I’ve always been fascinated by the US and my grandpa where born in the US. So I try to follow the Presidential Election from a distance.
As I understood both candidates are very old and and have is the least popular candidates throughout the history. Which I think is unfortunate for everyone. But I will not hide for any of you that I don’t think Trumph is the best fit to the the next president of the United States.
So I will have my radio on tonight for the first time in a very long time in order to be able to follow the election. Good night!
