The CPR Challange

Today I thought I would have a meeting at the Swedish Lifesaving Association Gothenburg but I had written the wrong day in my calendar but I when I showed up some lifeguarding buddies where there doing the CPR-Challange so they challenged me, which they came to regret.

The CPR-challange is that you once a month are doing the CRP for 2 minutes in on a connected training device that measures the quality of you CPR. The goal is to reach 100 % if not already from the start so by the end of May. But its also about being better that the other once participating. When I did it 12 people had participated this month and my result for January was 86,15% which from now on is highscore and the result to beat.

So a lot of training from now on until next month, the goal is to beat my result from this month. So why do I do this. Simple if/when I will come into a situation where I need to perform CPR on a friend, relative, family member, co-worker (its most probability its some you know) or someone else I want to give the as high quality CPR as possible.

Have you done a CRP course?

Weekend plans

Last night I got back to Sweden for a weekend with friends and family. So last night we had schrimp night with G’s family. Me and my to be father in law discussed cameras, a rather interesting discussion.

Today we will have lunch with my dad in Gothenburg before we meet up some friends at a spa here in Gothenburg where we will have spa and dinner and will stay until tomorrow when we head back to Oslo.

SHL: Frölunda

The team from the second largest city in Sweden, Gothenburg. Gothenburg is a harbor town on the Swedish west coast. In fact a recent poll has shown that Frölunda is the most popular hockey club team in Sweden.

Frölunda that looks stronger than they done in many years. Last couple of years the club has improved but had difficulties in the playoffs. But this year I think they got the chance to win the championship and go all the way. And right now they leading the leauge.

The team have also a history of producing good NHL players. The former captain of the Ottawa Senators Daniel Alfredsson comes from Frölunda. But as that’s not enough where successor as captain of the Ottawa Senators Erik Karlsson is also from this team. And the up and coming defenseman John Klingberg from the Dallas Stars who challenger Karlsson for the Norris Trophy this years is also a form this team. And of course “The King of New York” Henrik Lundqvist in the New York Rangers comes from Frölunda and his twin brother is in fact the captain of the team.

Fake Christmas #2

Yesterday I celebrated fake Christmas with my family couple of miles south of Gothenburg. Today is a new day and the plans for today is to celebrate fake Christmas together with my girlfriend Gs family a couple of miles north of Gothenburg.

So I think that today will it probably be more traditional Christmas food. Some relative to G will also join us which will be nice.

Tonight I’ve got some plans with two old life guarding buddies J and S so we will go out and have dinner together at a restaurant in Gothenburg. I’m really looking forward to that.

Café Review: Café Da Matteo, Gothenburg Sweden

I visited Gothenburg a city where I lived for 7 years before my nice to Oslo. But one thing I always wanted to try but never got the time to do is to try café Da Matteo. It’s mentioned in several international magazines and papers and is to be seen as the best café in Gothenburg if I got it right. Its also mentioned in the Swedish White Guide that rank the best places in Sweden to eat and drink.

So I finally tried it. I tried the nougat Croissant and the apple juice. Nothing very spectacular to try and all this where good. In fact it was very good but not the best I ever tried of the top croissant of apple juice. I had higher expectations after read and heard all about it.

However the the environment where cool it’s located in a very central but still a bit secluded part of the city and with a little square in front of it with trendy stores which I also visited. But the setting of the café is old fashion. The best feature is its location and interior or to be able to sit outside and look at people. I would try it again if I got the chance. I will give it 4 out 5 points and would recommend it.

Quick visit in Gothenburg

I’ve been in Gotherburg over the weekend for a quick visit. Not many that knew that I was in town. Arrived yesterday and helped my to-be-sister-in-law to move to her new appartment together with my girlfriend (to-be-wife-within-the-furure) G.

So yesterday pretty much went on full speed and now we are heading back to Oslo. Will be nice to get back home. This is the last visist to Sweden before Christmas so that’s a bit special.

I don’t go back to Sweden as often as when I first moved to Oslo anymore. But guess thats a sign that shows that Oslo have become home more now than before.

Weekend recap

I had a great weekend first i started of bu traveling to Oslo-Gothenburg during Friday evening together with my girlfriend G. Then I continued up to Skövde earliy Saturday morning in order to attend a life saving conference which ended a few hours ago. And now I’m on the train between Skövde and Gothenburg in order to get a few hours in Gothenburg together with my girlfriend G and her family before we head back to Oslo tonight.

How was your weekend?

Thinking about Gothenburg

From time to time I get to thinking about Gothenburg and a few days ago where one fo those day and when I found this song on youtube.

The songs name is Glenntown. And in In Sweden there is a saying that everyone from Gothenburg is called Glenn. This is after the soccer team IFK Göteborg had 4 players on the team called Glenn and at least two of them where rather successful also outside of Sweden. But mainly I thought the song where catchy. Then the song is also a tribute to that team.
