It’s back! Lifeguard Thursday! Back in Gothenburg and trying to get into good routines and good habits. Before I moved to Oslo I trained lifeguarding once a week and where even competing in it. After moving back to Gothenburg it’s been a bit difficult to settle in and get things to work with a new job and a lot of traveling to Oslo and finding an apartment among other things but now I’m hoping all of that is set and I’m good to get to start with the lifeguarding again.
It’s now everyone that knows that lifeguarding is a sport that you could compete in and in Scandinavia we got a lifeguarding competition called Nordic relay that’s adapted to indoors which I’m real great full for with our climate. However there is also international versions and competitions. Did you for example know that USA tried to get the international type of the sport to become and Olympic sport.
This photo is from the Swedish championships 2017.
That’s right, last night I swam 50 meters up on the outside of one of Gothenburg tallest building Gothia Crown.
After work last night med and some coworkers went out for dinner first at Ristoria, an Italian restaurant. I tricked my coworkers that didn’t drive to have a spritz Aperol with me. It was a good one. Then we had some nice Italian pizza and I had some sorbet for desert.
and then spa on what I would say is the newest spa in Gothenburg. The Upper House spa in Gothia Crown one of the tallest buildings in town. Where I first had a treatment and then we tried out the pools and the saunas. It was a great evening and a well deserved evening after a hard week at work.
Just watch the views! It was amazing!
What’s your favorite spa?
This weekend I will stay in Göteborg or I already know now that there will be some trips to Kungsbacka. It will be dinner at moms on Saturday and lunch at dads on Sunday. It’s Christmas things and for dad it’s also a birthday party in order to celebrate that it’s his birthday today in fact.
Tomorrow my wife will arrive in Göteborg as well so I’m looking forward, haven’t seen her this week yet.
It’s been nice day and I visited my grandma and did some preparations for the weekend. What’s you plans?
I’ve been sick for a few days with fever and a manly cold. But I’m getting bored so I’ve been watching tv but also spent some time on YouTube mainly watching photography videos.
So I’ve spent today with trying to catch some everyday photos. And here are the results.
Please leave a comment below on what you think about the photos and if you have any ideas for everyday photography.
Today I thought I would have a meeting at the Swedish Lifesaving Association Gothenburg but I had written the wrong day in my calendar but I when I showed up some lifeguarding buddies where there doing the CPR-Challange so they challenged me, which they came to regret.
The CPR-challange is that you once a month are doing the CRP for 2 minutes in on a connected training device that measures the quality of you CPR. The goal is to reach 100 % if not already from the start so by the end of May. But its also about being better that the other once participating. When I did it 12 people had participated this month and my result for January was 86,15% which from now on is highscore and the result to beat.
So a lot of training from now on until next month, the goal is to beat my result from this month. So why do I do this. Simple if/when I will come into a situation where I need to perform CPR on a friend, relative, family member, co-worker (its most probability its some you know) or someone else I want to give the as high quality CPR as possible.
Have you done a CRP course?
Last night I got back to Sweden for a weekend with friends and family. So last night we had schrimp night with G’s family. Me and my to be father in law discussed cameras, a rather interesting discussion.
Today we will have lunch with my dad in Gothenburg before we meet up some friends at a spa here in Gothenburg where we will have spa and dinner and will stay until tomorrow when we head back to Oslo.
The team from the second largest city in Sweden, Gothenburg. Gothenburg is a harbor town on the Swedish west coast. In fact a recent poll has shown that Frölunda is the most popular hockey club team in Sweden.
Frölunda that looks stronger than they done in many years. Last couple of years the club has improved but had difficulties in the playoffs. But this year I think they got the chance to win the championship and go all the way. And right now they leading the leauge.
The team have also a history of producing good NHL players. The former captain of the Ottawa Senators Daniel Alfredsson comes from Frölunda. But as that’s not enough where successor as captain of the Ottawa Senators Erik Karlsson is also from this team. And the up and coming defenseman John Klingberg from the Dallas Stars who challenger Karlsson for the Norris Trophy this years is also a form this team. And of course “The King of New York” Henrik Lundqvist in the New York Rangers comes from Frölunda and his twin brother is in fact the captain of the team.
